Take your child to the dentist by age 1.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that a child should go to the dentist within six months of getting the first tooth – and no later than the first birthday. An early visit to the dentist can set the foundation for a lifetime of great oral health.

Delta Dental of New Jersey established the Delta Dental of New Jersey Foundation in 1986. Its mission includes promoting and assisting educational projects devoted to the enhancement of dental health, as well as access to dental care programs designed to increase public awareness of the general benefits of good oral health and to improve dental health through the science of dentistry. Each year the Foundation provides financial support to various organizations throughout New Jersey and Connecticut. To date, the Foundation has awarded more than $14.7 million toward dental care for the underinsured and uninsured and dental education programs.
